La obra de teatro 'Solo creo en el fuego', creada por Carlos Martín-Peñasco y Ángela Palacios, recrea estos días el universo íntimo de estos dos escritores, que influyeron en la Generación Beaty que se escribieron cartas a lo largo y ancho de varias décadas y diferentes continentes.
The play 'I only believe in fire', created by Carlos Martín-Peñasco and Ángela Palacios, recreates these days the intimate universe of these two writers, who influenced the Beat Generation and who wrote letters across the length and breadth of several decades and different continents.
BUSCA MÚSICA
En un escenario cubierto por las cartas que Henry Miller y Anaïs Nin se intercambiaron durante 20 años, Ángela Palacios y Carlos Martín-Peñasco nos adentran maravillosamente en la intimidad sexual e intelectual de ambos escritores sin más escenografía que una doble cama y una vieja Olivetti.
In a scenario covered by the letters that Henry Miller and Anaïs Nin exchanged for 20 years, Ángela Palacios and Carlos Martín-Peñasco marvel us wonderfully into the sexual and intellectual intimacy of both writers with no more scenography than a double bed and an old Olivetti.

Ángela y Carlos dibujan en 75 minutos la compleja y tormentosa relación entre Miller y Nin, y para ello han realizado una laboriosa labor dramatúrgica.[...] El texto levita entre lo poético y lo descarnado, así como el complejo trabajo de sus actores.
Ángela and Carlos draw in 75 minutes the complex and stormy relationship between Miller and Nin, and for that they have done a laborious dramaturgical work ... The text levitates between the poetic and the fleshless, as well as the complex work of their actors.

“Solo creo en el fuego” es uno de esos montajes experimentales, distintos y arriesgados (...). Explora el papel del creador, con las inseguridades que lo acompañan, y plantea preguntas interesantes sobre qué es el arte, por qué se hace y de dónde surge esa visión romántica de la precariedad que a menudo rodea las tareas artísticas. Un buen trabajo de dramaturgia con una preciosa puesta en escena y unos intérpretes totalmente entregados.
“I only believe in fire” is one of those experimental, different and risky theatre pieces (…). It explores the role of the creator, with the insecurities that go with it, and raises interesting questions about what art is, why it is made and which is the origin of that romantic vision of the precariousness that often surrounds artistic jobs. A good work of dramaturgy with a beautiful staging and fully devoted interpreters.

Propuestas como éstas son las que agradecemos aquellos que vamos a menudo al teatro.
It is a show with attention to the smallest detail, text, interpretation, movement, direction, lighting, music, staging ... The selection of texts is extraordinary. The interpretations of Ángela Palacios and Carlos Martín-Peñasco are extraordinary. Visually the show is extraordinary. Proposals like these are those that seasoned theatre goers truly appreciate.
CULTURA Y ALGO MÁS
La obra consigue traernos el fuego surgido entre ambos artistas, ese carpe diem, a través de unos diálogos muy ágiles, una encarnación sorprendente en los personajes, una potente escenografía (…) En definitiva, una obra que ha sabido transmitir muy bien el espíritu de los personajes trasladándolo a 2017 y haciéndolos nuestros. Gran trabajo de Ángela Palacios y Carlos Martín-Peñasco, completos creadores que transmiten su pasión por la literatura y el teatro a los espectadores.
The piece manages to bring us the fire arisen between both artists, that carpe diem, through some very agile dialogues, a surprising incarnation in the characters, a powerful scenery (...) In short, a piece that has been able to transmit very well the spirit of the characters moving it to 2017 and making them ours. Great work by Ángela Palacios and Carlos Martín-Peñasco, complete creators who transmit their passion for literature and theater to the audience.

Una propuesta que nos ha gustado muchísimo, por lo que tiene de dualidad, de contraste entre pasado y presente, entre ficción y realidad. Una puesta en escena muy dinámica (…) un juego de espejos, una mezcla de tiempos y espacios que hacen de esta propuesta un imprescindible de la cartelera teatral.
A proposal that we liked a lot, so it has duality, contrast between past and present, between fiction and reality. A very dynamic staging (...) a game of mirrors, a mixture of times and spaces that make this proposal an essential of the theatrical billboard.
